Vier Schweizer Freunde, kleine Kinder, kein Playbook. Wir haben Argentinien gewählt, ein Grundstück gesucht, ein Konzept entwickelt und ein Weinboutique-Hotel mit dem ersten authentischen Hamam Südamerikas gebaut, das heute im Michelin Guide steht.

Was wir dabei gelernt haben, geben wir weiter. An alle, die ihren eigenen Traum in der Hospitality aufbauen wollen.

David hat einen Weg hinter sich, der auf den ersten Blick nicht geradlinig verläuft und trotzdem genau dorthin führte, wo er hingehört.

Der Einstieg in die Berufswelt erfolgte im Bankensektor: bei Regionalbanken und einer Grossbank in Zürich. Danach wechselte er ins Cockpit und wurde Linienpilot bei Crossair und Edelweiss Air, flog MD-83 und Airbus auf europäischen Strecken. Die Präzision des Cockpits, die Verantwortung für ein komplexes System: Das prägte ihn fundamental.

Nach der Pilotenkarriere kehrte er in den Finanzsektor zurück und bildete sich zum Business Analyst SGO/CAS, Project and Process Management weiter. Es folgten Einsätze bei der Hyposwiss Privatbank und der Eidgenössischen Steuerverwaltung, wo er grosse Projekte leitete und Teams von bis zu 36 Personen führte. Sein BSc in Social Sciences an der Open University verband das Technische mit dem Menschlichen.

Bei Entre Cielos übernahm David die Gesamtleitung: Strategie, Finanzen, Verhandlungen, operative Führung. Er ist derjenige, der eine Vision in einen Businessplan, einen Grundstücksdeal und eine funktionierende Organisation verwandelt. Heute berät er Projekte und arbeitet in einem Thinktank an den Hospitality-Konzepten von morgen.

At first glance, David's path doesn't look like a straight line, yet it led him exactly where he belongs.

He started his career in banking, at regional banks and a major bank in Zurich. He then moved into the cockpit and became an airline pilot with Crossair and Edelweiss Air, flying MD-83 and Airbus on European routes. The precision of the cockpit, the responsibility for a complex system: it shaped him fundamentally.

After his flying career he returned to the financial sector and trained further as a Business Analyst SGO/CAS in Project and Process Management. Roles followed at Hyposwiss Private Bank and the Swiss Federal Tax Administration, where he led major projects and managed teams of up to 36 people. His BSc in Social Sciences at the Open University bridged the technical with the human.

At Entre Cielos, David took overall leadership: strategy, finance, negotiations, operations. He transforms a vision into a business plan, a land deal, and a functioning organisation. Today he consults on projects and works in a think tank on the hospitality concepts of tomorrow.

Daniela kommt aus der Pädagogik, und das hört man, wenn sie über Räume spricht. Lehrerin an der Mittelstufe, später Mitinhaberin eines Catering-Services und Restaurantbetreiberin: überall dieselbe Grundüberzeugung: Räume und Atmosphären schaffen, in denen Menschen aufblühen.

Bei Entre Cielos war Daniela verantwortlich für das gesamte Innen- und Aussendesign sowie das Restaurant Katharina und die Gartengestaltung. Jeder Raum, jede Pflanze, jedes Material trägt ihre Handschrift.

2015–2016 schloss sie ihre Ausbildung zur Interior Designerin an der Höheren Fachschule Südostschweiz ab, ergänzt durch AutoCAD und Photoshop. Seither realisiert sie eigenständige Interior- und Innenarchitektur-Projekte, zuletzt die Umgestaltung sämtlicher öffentlicher Räume im Gemeindehaus Herrliberg (2024–2025). Daniela comes from education, and you hear it when she talks about spaces. Upper primary school teacher, later co-owner of a catering service and restaurant manager: everywhere the same core conviction: creating spaces and atmospheres where people flourish.

At Entre Cielos, Daniela was responsible for the complete interior and exterior design, Restaurant Katharina, and all garden landscaping. Every room, every plant, every material bears her signature.

In 2015–2016 she completed her training as an Interior Designer at the Higher Technical School of South-East Switzerland, complemented by AutoCAD and Photoshop. Since then she has realised independent interior design and interior architecture projects, most recently the complete redesign of all public spaces at Gemeindehaus Herrliberg (2024–2025). Vier Schweizer Freunde, ein Hotel und die Frage, wo unsere Vision Wirklichkeit werden kann. Die Antwort fanden wir weder in der Schweiz noch in Europa, sondern in Mendoza, Argentinien, mitten in den Malbec-Weinbergen, mit Blick auf die Anden.

Wir hatten kleine Kinder. Wir hatten keine Erfahrung im Hotelbau. Was wir hatten, war eine Idee, die uns nicht losliess: ein Weinboutique-Hotel mit dem ersten authentischen Hamam Südamerikas. Ein Ort, der Menschen wirklich berührt, weit über eine Übernachtung hinaus.

Von der Grundstückssuche über die Architektur, das gesamte Interior Design, das Restaurant bis zur operativen Führung: Alles haben wir selbst entwickelt. Mit dem Willen, etwas Eigenständiges zu schaffen, das bleibt.

Das Ergebnis: Entre Cielos. Ausgezeichnet mit dem Gold Award der Great Wine Capitals, dem World Travel Award, dem World Luxury Spa Award. Im Michelin Guide. Mitglied bei Small Luxury Hotels of the World und Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Four Swiss friends, one hotel, and the question of where our vision could become reality. We found the answer neither in Switzerland nor in Europe, but in Mendoza, Argentina, among the Malbec vineyards, with views of the Andes.

We had young children. We had no experience in hotel construction. What we had was an idea we couldn't let go of: a boutique wine hotel with South America's first authentic hamam. A place that truly moves people, far beyond a night's sleep.

From finding the land to architecture, the complete interior design, the restaurant, and operational management: we developed everything ourselves. With the will to create something that endures.

The result: Entre Cielos. Awarded the Great Wine Capitals Gold Award, the World Travel Award, the World Luxury Spa Award. In the Michelin Guide. Member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Was mit Entre Cielos in Mendoza begann, lebt in Poggi weiter. Villa del Parco ist unser zweites Projekt: ein B&B in einer Villa, die wir umfassend renoviert und umgestaltet haben. Mit demselben Geist: ganzheitliches Denken, echter Qualitätsanspruch, ein botanischer Garten, der atmet.

Auch hier sind wir den ganzen Weg gegangen: Suche. Akquisition. Renovation/Umgestaltung. Konzept & Realisierung eines Betriebs, des B&B. Und jetzt die letzte Phase: die Übergabe.

Die Villa del Parco war unser Zuhause, unser Labor und ist der lebende Beweis für alles, was wir weitergeben.

The second
chapter:
the Riviera
dei Fiori.

What began with Entre Cielos in Mendoza continues in Poggi. Villa del Parco is our second project: a B&B in a villa we completely renovated and redesigned. With the same spirit: holistic thinking, genuine quality, a botanical garden that breathes.

Here too, we went the whole way: search. Acquisition. Renovation and redesign. Concept and launch of the business, the B&B. And now the final phase: the handover.

Villa del Parco was our home, our laboratory, and it is the living proof of everything we pass on.

2017 haben wir untersucht, ob sich das Hamam-Konzept von Entre Cielos auf eine Grossstadt übertragen lässt: ein Hamam-Spa im Medina-Stil, gruppiert um einen Innenhof, mit Beauty, Fitness & Yoga, Shop, Restaurant und Kinderbetreuung.

Gebaut haben wir es nicht. Aber genau diese Arbeit geben wir weiter: ein Konzept so durchdenken, dass man am Ende wirklich entscheiden kann, ob ja oder nein.

A hamam for Buenos Aires. Conceived. Tested. Not built.

In 2017 we studied whether the Entre Cielos hamam concept could work in a major city: a medina-style hamam spa arranged around a courtyard, with beauty, fitness & yoga, a shop, a restaurant and childcare.

We didn't build it. But this is exactly the work we pass on: thinking a concept through so thoroughly that, in the end, you can truly decide: yes or no.
